Society for Military History 2023 Annual Meeting

A member of the US Navy who has served his country since 1994, Peter Zeller concurrently directs strategic sourcing for Honeywell International in Charlotte, NC. During his career, he has built and led successful, goal-oriented teams and delivered millions of dollars in savings to bottom-line results. In his free time, Peter Zeller enjoys teaching history and holds active membership in the Society for Military History.

Founded in 1933 as the American Military History Foundation, the Society for Military History consists of more than 2,700 members who are dedicated to furthering the historical study of military events and issues. Many of these members gather each year for the organization’s annual meeting.

The 89th Annual Meeting of the Society for Military History took place in San Diego, California, in March of 2023. The event began with a pre-reception meeting that covered Chinese military history and ended with a large exposition and a series of meeting room sessions.

Other features at the Society for Military History 2023 Annual Meeting included a Presidential Roundtable titled “What Military History Tells Us About the Current War in Ukraine.” The National World War II Museum’s Rob Citino chaired this roundtable of panelists that included Conrad Crane of the US Army War College and Gian Gentile of the RAND Corporation.
